Beyonce is one of the most competitive women in pop so it should come as no surprise that the track 'Pretty Hurts' which features on her latest album was actually intended for her pop rivals Katy Perry and Rihanna before the diva snapped it up.
Australian songwriter Sia has revealed that she wrote the self-esteem boosting ballad at her Los Angeles apartment with producer Ammo on the same day she recorded global smash hit anthem 'Titanium' with David Guetta.

Sia says that she emailed 'Pretty Hurts' to her close friend Katy Perry whom she worked with on the pop star's 'Prism' album, however, the 'Roar' songstress didn't see the message and missed out on bagging the song.
After the lack of response, Sia then passed the track onto Rihanna but the Bajan singer held onto the track for eight months without paying the required fee to secure the ballad, so it ultimately went to Beyonce who wasted no time in snapping it up.

Sia told the NY Times: "When Beyoncé heard it, she slid into home base and just closed the deal."
When pop producer Dr. Luke played 'Pretty Hurts' for Katy once Beyonce had recorded it, she fell in love with the song and emailed Sia: "I'm pretty hurt you never sent me this song."
After reading the original email Sia had sent, Katy added: "It was meant to be with Beyonce, of course."
