Season five of The Walking Dead is still a good few months away but the cast are preparing to head back to set in the coming weeks, with Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, teasing that even he doesn't know what's in store for his character in the new series.
Chandler, who will turn 15 during S5 shooting, was speaking to SpoilerTV at Salt Lake Comic Con over the weekend where he revealed that the cast will be back on set in Atlanta in three weeks time.
It might not be long until Chandler is back in that sheriff's hat, but he insists he has no idea on what Carl, dad Rick and the other Terminus captives will be up to in the new season.
"I haven't gotten the scripts for the next season yet", the teen actor reveals. "I really don't know so we'll see. I want to know what happens, too."
During season four, Carl took centre stage after the dramatic prison battle with The Governor, with Chandler revealing that shooting the key scene where Carl confronts father Rick was one of the most challenging to date.

"It was funny because that entire episode I was used to not having that many lines and just learning them on the set. While I was getting wired that day, I pulled out my sides and realised I had two and a half pages of lines to s– in about an hour. That was really interesting. But I was able to charge my way through that and get it done."
Meanwhile TWD showrunner Scott Gimble has also been teasing season five in a new podcast for the Walking Deadcast.
"I can say, from a vibe point of view, the first eight of Season 4 were one thing, the second eight were something very different. These next eight are going to be something very different again", he explains.
"Things are just going to have a much different tone and a much different practical reality moving forward".
"The season has a number of shifts of location, and even of the tone. But the tone for most of the season is very, very, very intense. [It's] going to be very different from the last half-season, and I loved the last half season, but it was always planned out in my head that there would be these big shifts, and we're about to have one of those big shifts."
The Walking Dead returns to screens in October.
