Celebrities have been quick to ridicule Shia LaBeouf for his arrest during a performance of Cabaret on Thursday night.
The 28-year-old former child star was removed from the Studio 54 theatre on West 54th Street for allegedly slapping actors, smoking inside and yelling obscenities and his fellow celebrities took to Twitter to joke about his arrest.
Lena Dunham joked, 'I feel you Shia: In 1993 I was carried out of Les Mis screaming because I couldn't handle the intimations of death' and later tweeted that the incident is 'the best current event we have'.

Release: Shia LaBeouf, left Criminal Court in New York on Friday after being arraigned on charges of spitting on a police officer following his arrest at a performance of Cabaret
She wrote: 'Seriously feel awful for the performers and am sorry to contribute to celebrity takedown culture but this is the best current event we have!'
And Lena later tweeted a quote from her friend, actress Gillian Jacobs, saying: 'You know you're a f****n' G when you're arrested during Cabaret.'
Poking fun: Zach Braff was one of the first celebrities to poke fun at Shia on Twitter
Mocking: Zach referenced Shia's previous role in Transformers in order to mock the star
Relentless: Zach kept his jibes coming on the same day Shia was released from jail
Zach Braff, currently starring in Bullets Over Broadway, was equally unsympathetic to Shia.
Referring to the actor's former starring role in the Transformers movies, he quipped: 'Optimus Prime came to @BulletsOverBway last night and was perfectly well behaved and respectful.'
And Zach went on to joke - in reference to reports that Shia slapped star Alan Cummings bottom during the performance - 'In Shia's defense, @Alancumming 's nipples make me want to go crazy too.'
No sympathy here: While Lena Dunham insisted she didn't want to contribute to 'celebrity takedown culture' it didn't stop her jibes at Shia
Quip: Lena joked she was once traumatised by a performance of Les Miserables
Celebrity takedown: After insisting she didn't want to contribute to the 'celebrity takedown culture', Lena Dunham did just that
Everybody's a comedian: Lena quoted her pal Gillian Jacobs who joked about the arrest
The former Scrubs star then warned audience members coming to see Bullets Over Broadway to be on their best behaviour.
He said: 'If you're coming to @BulletsOverBway tonight, spitting and cursing is fine, but please don't grab anyone's ass. #Decepticons.'
Alan Cumming did not confirm reports Shia slapped him but tweeted: 'Our @Cabaret_Musical Stage Manager last night at intermission: This is your places call and Shia (LaBeouf) has left the building in handcuffs.'
Confusion: Alan Cumming revealed how the cast got the surprising news about Shia's arrest
Surprisingly Donald Trump - not known for his sensitivity - was one of the most sympathetic to the unravelling star' plight.
He wrote: 'I know Shia LaBeouf @thecampaignbook and when sober, a really nice guy. Must get act together fast before too late.'
Surprisingly the voice of wisdom: You know things are bad when Donald Trump is the most sensitive
This came after reports that Shia spent Thursday afternoon drinking margaritas at Iguana Bar in Midtown and watching Belgium play South Korea in the World Cup.
