Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has made the claim that he is the one who came up with the idea to visit countries all over the world for a few days at a time, to hold movie premieres.
Having finished his own mammoth premiere tour where he took part in the Edge Of Tomorrow premiere in London, France and New York all in one day last week, Tom caught up with Jimmy Fallon on his TV chat show, where he said:
"We travelled all over the world - Italy, Paris, Japan. I always wanted to travel and it was amazing. We'd used to do these foreign tours and we'd spend weeks in one place. I love spending that time but I was working."

Recalling his epiphany in the 80s, Tom then said: "Scorsese was editing the Color of Money. I remember an early draft of [1988 Oscar winning movie Rain Man] and I was there in Paris and I thought - 'I want to make movies.' So that's when I kind of came up with the idea of doing a country in a couple of days.
"I like premieres. When I saw the old photos of the [Hollywood] Grauman's Chinese and those wonderful premieres - I came up with the idea - oh let's have premieres in different countries and then do it that way."
When Jimmy asked if he took the responsibility for the holding premieres in different countries for a couple of days at a time, Tom responded with: "Yeah, I came with that It took me a few years to get it going."
