'It Breaks My Heart': Drake CANCELS Wireless Festival Performance Due To Sickness
Jul 3rd 2014, 11:48

Drake has been forced to cancel his headline performance at this weekend's Wireless festival last minute, revealing that he has been deemed too sick to fly over from the US.

The 'Started From The Bottom' rapper was due to headline the Saturday night of the London festival but as he will no longer appear, the festival has announced that Kanye West, who is headlining on Friday, will now also perform in Drake's original slot in the capital.

In a statement posted on the Wireless festival's website, Drake said: "To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won't be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend.

"I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery."

He added: "I have the best fans in the world and I can't wait to come back to make more incredible memories together."

Unfortunately, this means fans who were hoping to see Kanye perform at Birmingham's Perry Park on Saturday will miss out, and will instead be treated to an extended set from Rudimental who will be joined by a host of special guests.

Ticket-holders who were expecting to see Drake perform in Birmingham on Friday will be given £20 worth of Wireless Credit which can be used for food, beverages, merchandise and funfair. Refunds will be available from point of purchase before the event.

The Sunday line-up appears to have remained unaffected with Bruno Mars set to headline with special guests Outkast.
