He's not sure he wanted to do it...
Mark Hamill has opened up about returning to the Stars Wars franchise to reprise his role as the famous Luke Skywalker. The former Star Wars star will be joining Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher to portray the trio that holds a special place in movie history.
Coming back to the series wasn't as easy as it may have seemed, however, as Mark Hamill has admitted that he felt pressure to return whether he really wanted to or not.
"Look, I'm aware that a lot of people don't care one way or another, but for the UPFs – the ultra passionate fans – they would come after me like the angry townspeople with torches in the old Frankenstein pictures," he explained to the Orlando Sentinel. "I would have a lot to answer for if I didn't at least try to make the effort. It's not like I had a choice. I feel like I was called up for service by the Selective Service."

Returning to the Stars Wars films is not all bad for Mark though. He also revealed how exciting it was to see all his old friends again.
"I hadn't seen Tony Daniels or Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford or Peter Mayhew in ages," he revealed. "It was wonderful to see them again, because I didn't expect to. Again, this is all so unexpected. It's like getting out that pair of pants you haven't worn in five years and finding a 20-dollar bill in the pocket. Oh, this is nice."
Now that Mark is 100% back in the films, he is taking his role incredibly seriously. He also revealed how he has been preparing for the film, which includes changing his diet and working out.
"I've altered my diet," he admitted. "I've started working out. There's that. But on the film itself: I toured the departments, I've looked at wardrobe, and I saw the creature shop. I went around and met all the cast people, saw the technicians working on some new things."
Star Wars: Episode VII has begun production, and will be out in December of 2015.
