He may have only recently entered the Big Brother house, but already Pav is one of the most unpopular housemates.

The new tenant, who entered the surveillance house one week ago, has already divided opinion with certain sections of the house aghast that he survived the public vote on Friday.

Instead, Steven Goode was evicted - to a sea of boos.

The housemate admitted the pressure was on to justify his role in the house.

'I'm nervous because Steven's very popular and I think a lot of the people in that room wanted me to go,' he said in the Diary Room. 'I feel pressure to perform this week to prove to the Housemates why I should be here…I feel good about this week.'

Immediately after the eviction, Ash and Chris admitted they were surprised that Pav had not been evicted - not least because the public dislike him.

'I'm all like conflicted about it because I don't think it's fair. That's not at all how that should've gone. It's pissed me off in a massive way and now I'm really torn,' Chris said.

Helen Wood broke down in tears and said that Steven will be sorely missed.

'Even when he was asleep, he was funny! He's literally the best friend you could ever have,' she said. 'I don't think I'll miss anyone as much as I'll miss him…the House won't be the same without him.'

She later added that Pav was 'weird'.

Helen then encouraged Ash and Zoe to discuss Pav and his struggles to fit into the group.

Zoe suggested that he's just not as outgoing as the other housemates, while Ash observes that he's probably the loudest and most outspoken in his own group of friends but not in the house.

Helen suggests that 'he's thinking too much' and Ash says he should 'just chill and be him'.

Meanwhile, Ashleigh added that - judging by the mood in the house - it's Pav who should've gone.

A short time later, Pav tells Ash that it 'feels a bit weird' knowing that everyone in the room wanted Steven to stay.

Ash reassures him that it doesn't mean they wanted Pav to go but they have seven weeks of knowing their 'best mate' Steven.
