Some of the male cartoon characters will be made female as part of new BBC initiative
Danger Mouse is set to return to our screens next year but the cartoon is set for some interesting changes – some of the male characters will be changed to female.
The BBC are currently working on showing more girls on children's television and to reach their goal, the makers of the programme are planning on making the adaptations, according to The Guardian.
Speaking at the Children's Media Conference, Cheryl Taylor said: "Characters that might have been male in the past will now be female characters."

On the BBC's plans, CBeebies controller Kay Benbow added: "I still feel the default is for there to be a male lead or a male presenter. It's actually really hard: you can easily say Mr Maker, Mr Tumble or Mr Bloom.
"It's harder for women: what do you say: Mrs, Miss or Ms? It's a bit of a drag really, we're still defined by our marital status."
Danger Mouse first appeared on television in 1992 and original co-creator Brian Cosgrove is working as a creative consultant on the remake of the show.
