Cheryl Cole has landed her fourth number one single with her aptly titled single Crazy Stupid Love putting the newlywed in the record books alongside Rita Ora and Geri Halliwell as just the third female in chart history to reach the feat.

Featuring British rapper Tinie Tempah, the jazzy comeback single serves as the lead track from Cheryl's upcoming fourth solo album, Only Human set for release later this year.

The chart-topper will also be the singer's last single under the moniker Cheryl Cole following he marriage to French restaurant entrepreneur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Sharing her excitement with fans, the songstress said: "It feels great to be back but even more special to have achieved my fourth number one. So exciting!"

Cheryl scored her first number one back in 2010 with her debut solo smash Fight For This Love before both Promise This and Call My Name both hit the top of the charts in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Hot on Chezza's heels in the race for this week's number one, Canadian reggae troupe MAGIC! made their UK chart debut at number two on this week's tally but have now gone on to overtake the former Girls Aloud star on iTunes, putting them in good stead to swipe her glory this Sunday.

Ella Henderson claws back up the chart one spot to number three with George Ezra's Budapest following suit jumping a spot to number four. Ariana Grande's former number one, Problem featuring Iggy Azalea rounds off the top five.

After appearing on the soundtrack to tear-jerking box-office smash The Fault In Our Stars, Charlie XCX's Boom Clap starts its run at number six ahead of last week's number one, Me and my Broken Heart from boyband Rixton which falls a massive seven places to number eight.

Over on the album chart, Ed Sheeran has made it a fifth week at number one with his sophomore record x, becoming the longest-running number one album in the UK since Adele's 21, which spent 11 weeks on the top spot back in 2011.

His second album, which topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic, has so far shifted over 400,000 copies in the UK alone and became the fastest selling album of the year with first-week sales of 182,000 copies last month.

Dolly Parton reaches a new peak with her greatest hits collection, Blue Smoke – The Best Of at number two while Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour Holds tight at number three while La Roux enters the Album Chart at number six with Trouble In Paradise, her debut record as a solo artist since parting ways with former bandmate Ben Langmaid.

This week sees new album releases from Cher Lloyd, Neon Jungle and Eric Clapton who will all be vying it out for the coveted number one album, hoping to knock Ed Sheeran from the top spot.
