Michael Jackson Teenage Fan Wins Talent Show With Epic Impersonation Of Billie Jean (WATCH)
May 23rd 2014, 07:08

Michael Jackson returned to the stage through a hologram last weekend but it may have competition as a teenage fan has just won a school talent competition after performing an epic impersonation of the King of Pop's famous Moonwalk dance.

Brett Nichols, a student at Pitman High School in the US, has become a YouTube sensation after a clip of him dancing along to Jackson's 'Billie Jean' at a talent contest went viral, now clocking up more than eight million views.

The 17-year-old perfected Jackson's famous high-kicks, hip thrusting and of course, the notorious Moonwalk dance which sealed his victory, with Brett crowned the winner of the competition ahead of his school mates.

While his moves are just as smooth as the iconic singer, Brett insists that he hasn't had any real practice and is simply a huge MJ fan and used old clips of the singer's performances on YouTube to learn the tricky routines.

He is quoted by Starcasm.net as saying: "It started in 2001, at a very young age, when Michael reunited with his brothers. Someone in my house was flipping through the channels, (and) the way he moves really caught my eye.

"Over the years, through YouTube, I spent months just watching it again and again … I studied each part (and) taught myself."

Brett also told News 10: "

I guess people still miss him, it's been five years (since his death). The younger generation appreciates the work, and not only does someone care, but someone cared to put in the time.

"YouTube came around and you could find all the videos and songs I remembered hearing. Then it was possible to see the choreography, it inspired me. And then I thought, 'why isn't this something I can't do.' Then it was practice, practice, watch, learn and take note."

According to TMZ, Brett has even impressed Jackson's family with The Michael Jackson Estate reportedly inviting him to perform in Las Vegas.

Fans saw Jackson, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, return to the stage on Sunday night when a hologram of the legendary late singer made an appearance at the Billboard Music Awards to perform the track 'Slave To The Rhythm' which features on Jackson's number one posthumous album 'Xscape.'
